So im new to the reef community and i want to get a baby clown and a anemone. i was just wondering if the two will automatically find each other? is there a spacific type of nem i should get to host the clown? and what about the clown? are there any types that wont be compatable with each other? will anemones host any other fish?

It depends on many things really. My personal experience is that wild caught clowns are more likely to find and know what they are as compared to the tank raised. However, tank raised fish are going to be better, easier to acclimate and feed.
Also you need to consider several things. Only certain anemones will be hosted by certain clowns. However there are certain anemones sold in the trade that are "cheap" and will not only be incompatible with your clown but could in fact end up eating it.
Best thing is to decide if your tank has the proper lighting and waterflow. Then if you are willing and able to offer feedings and care to keep the anemone happy. Since they can be tricky buggers sometimes. If that's a yes, then you should research the compatibility between different clowns and anemones to find which are suitable for one another.
As a side note. clowns do not NEED an anemone. In fact they will do odd things and host many different items. Power heads, filter tubes, rocks. I've even seen one try to feed its power head before.
Hope this is allowed, but this chart seems to have a pretty fair handle on compatibility. Here
Personal opinion mind you.

also, something I have been told, captive ocellaris clowns are least likely to go to anemones. This was told to me many times by many ppl when I was trying to get little Nemo to go to a LTA. He finally did when he matured. Maroon clowns and clarkiis have a stronger instinct from what I've heard and seen

I've got two anemones and two true percs in a 24. My clowns host the output hose, and sometimes my smaller one will hover around my frogspawn.
No interest in the GBTA's; but who konws they've only been in the tank since October.

what types of anemones are they again? sorry not good with the shorthand reef lingo yet.
So far percs have been known to host with : Heteractis magnifica, Heteractis crispa, Stichodactyla gigantea and Stichodactyla haddoni.
Some shops sell these: Condylactis gigantea, Condylactis spp, Ceranthus membranaceus and Epicystis crucifer. So far these have not shown to be anemones that work with any clown types.. Per the link in my post above.

Well under the listing. The Entacmaea quadricolor. Known as the bubble tip isn't known to be hosted by percs. I am just resending what I am reading but according to the list your bubble tip is normally hosted by. Clarkii, Oscellarus, tomato's, and maroons. Again just relaying what I am reading under a compatibility chart.

I have a maroon clown in my JBJ 12 gallon. A month ago, I dropped in a rtba and within 20 min, the clown found it for an hour afterwords, the clown had nipped, tugged and nestled in the anemone. I got a bit of it on video. Was really cool to watch.
