I have read they don't need much flow at all. However I like to have enough flow to blow the slime off them when they shed. Just my opinion though.

I don't know if I would. Since you just got it it will look like it died in the next couple of days, turn like a purplish, black color then it will shed. You need to keep blowing off the white stuff and if you leave it there it should get blown off for you. When my finger leather is out the fingers do blow around slightly but in the ocean there is flow.

You want the finger in higher water flow, but not so the water is pounding it. When I got mine it remained small for a week, and everyday I'd move it thinking it wasn't happy. Then, after that week, I propped it up in good lighting, next to a powerhead but not in front of it, and two days later it was fully inflated and his polyps were out. They are hardy, but they don't like to be moved at all. Leave it alone and it will be fine. Remember, Patience!

When I got mine, it opened right back up when I put it in my tank. Looked great for 2 dies then poof looked like death for a week to 10 days. Then came back with a vengence. Now it seems like every 3 to 4 days it will expel everything in the middle of the night and come back in the day. Do not worry but it will look alot worse before it gets better.
