If I had to set up my tank all over again, I would NOT:
A. Use a DSB
B. Add Mushrooms
C. Add zoanthids to a wide open area of LR
D. Buy florida LR
E. Use an off-brand tank
F. Set up a sump-less system

I would have:
Used acrylic for both display and sump
Installed a sump/refug to begin with
Installed an Oceans Motions
Not bought a Diamond Goby
Bought a canopy with much more room for better lighting
Bought good in sump skimmer as opposed to HOB crap
Found this message board for learning before doing any of it!

I guess it really boils down to the fact that I am not really too pleased with the way my tank turned out.
Either that, or I am ready for something new . . .

I wouldn't have used a Domino Damsel to cycle my tank. He was a PITA to catch and get out of there when cycle was done!

I'm thinking it's a "double negative" statement...
1. I would "not" Buy the tank "first" then try to find fish that will "fit"...:notsure:
2. I would not take the advice and "recomendations" of a "sales"man on what equipment and additives I need...
3. I would not run through three or four "cheap" skimmers trying to find one that works as well as say a more expencive Euro Reef...(and end up paying for it twice)...
4. Same thing with lighting....MHs first and "skip" several sets of "cheaper" lighting...
5. I would not " Impulse Buy" every Carnation, Elegance, and Goniopora I saw (with out researching it first) for "survivability"...
(OK....so I still "struggle" with this one...:nervous: )
6. Same thing with Manderins and Moorish Idols and (some) Butterflys and Angels....(this I'm a little better at... )
