Fire Shrimp Question

Hey ,
I've had this fire shrimp for about a week now and I'n just not sure how they are supposed to act. He been getting a little goofy the last two days - running around the tank like Pryor with his hair on fire (To borrow a phrase) and lays on his side sometimes.
Does any of this sound wrong, or are these guys just little clowns?

My fireshrimp layed on his side once, and that was when i found out he was dead. I dont think that is a normal behavior. You should make sure you water parameters are in check.

becareful cus once i thought mine was dead but it was really he shedded his skind (exoskeleton)

Has he been eating?
Have you been adding iodine?
What are your nitrate readings?
My fire shrimp never lays on it's side. It is pretty active actually.
