Fire Shrimp ?'s

I was looking at getting a fire shrimp, mostly because I think they look cooler than the Skunks. But I noticed that the one my dad's tank is quite shy. Is this normal? He does the cleaning function well, but when he's just hanging out it seems like he's always hiding under his rock. Do most of them act more like the social skunks?

My fire shrimp found a favorite ledge to hang under and never really came out unless i deposited pellets right outside his cave. I really like the peppermint shrimp that i have now. Tons of personality and not afraid of anything.

My fire shrimp has been the biggest disappointment of anything I've bought. Well, other than the emerald crab who didn't eat bubble algae, but I knew that was only a 50/50 shot, and the crab only cost 1/3 as much.
I have pieces of live rock with more personality than this shrimp. It doesn't clean, it doesn't move around, it hangs out in a crack all day and comes out once in a while to feed.
I'd say watch the shrimp before you buy it. If its moving around the tank, and 'cleaning' with its front legs, go for it. If its not, skip it and move on.
