You are being paranoid. Be thankful that you are getting to see him a lot and get paranoid when you never see him. Every shrimp I have ever added seems to find a spot that he really enjoys and stays there ... kind of becomes home base. They would venture out during feedings or when the lights go out and then return to home base.

Are you looking at a Shrimp Molt or the actual Shrimp?
How did you acclimate the Shrimp to your tank water?

Yeah, after reading Bang's response I came back and read again what you wrote. When you say not moving much, is it actually moving or is it a molt being moved around by the current?

My fire shrimp is too busy trying ti impress me when i come up to the tank. All those tentacles waving around attempting to make himself look larger than he is and all that. My shrimp does tend to stay under the rocks until feeding. If yours is out in the open, make sure its not a molt as the fire shrimp molts look almost exactly like the actual shrimp. Look for black eyes. If you dont see em, its a molt.
