Firefish question

I currently have 3 firefish in qt. They have dug quite a burrow under the LR. I am wondering if they may cause problems in the show tank burrowing under LR, and disturbing the DSB. Anyone have experience with these fish. Just want some opinions. Show tank is a 75 full reef with 125+ lbs. LR, and 100 lbs LS.
Thanks in advance,
B

Ouch! That really bites, Ijji. At least it wasn't a purple or a helfrichs....then you would have been out a nice chunk of money too.
Mine ate within a couple of hours the first day. And came out within five minutes of lights on in a.m., on the second day. So I think they are going to be fine healthwise, I just don't want a network of tunnels under my LR in the main tank. It's funny. I did quite a bit of research on these fish before purchasing them, and the burrowing never came up .

I did not know they dug either. But I had two purple ones for about a week. Turns out I did not know they did not need to be in a tank with angels either. I have a coral beauty and a flame angel in my custom 100 gallon. And they killed the little guys. CLICK HERE TO SEE MY REEF.

mine have their cave dug out but once they were done that was the end of their digging. the only time they dig more sand is if some sand gets pushed down in their burrow and they are just cleaning it out. you have to be very carful what fish u put them with they are very docile and there are quite a few fish that will pick on them a lot

My firefish used to live under a rock until I got more live rock. At that point, they moved on up to the east side! Once they had their burrow dug, they didn't bother any other substrate. Mine have never gone to the other extreme and tried to jump out, either. They are very content to hang out around their "east side condo" as my husband and I call it. I don't think you will have a big problem once you put them in your reef tank. Just make sure they have plenty of places to hide. They are pretty shy and those dorsal fins make for nice munching from more aggressive fish. By the way, before I lost my other fish to ick, they (coral beauty, naso tang, percula) all lived quite happily together. The firefish even had the coral beauty over to visit once in a while! ;)

I have 5 firefish that havent dug at all. But I also have 145lbs of live rock in my 55 so they have plenty of caves and hiding places. To answer your question, I have not had any problem with all the LR and the firefish.

my friend has 2 firefish and they have a cave in the sand under the live rock its the starngest thing because sometimes his 8 in moray eel goes in there too

There's a false percula clown, a dottyback, and a mandarin in the main tank. I'm hoping there isn't a problem with the dottyback. It really doesn't harrass the other fish ever. Hmmmm.....

Mine shared a burrow under the LR with a bar goby. Once it was dug out, no more digging. One would come out and collect the food and bring it into the cave for the other.
