Firefish

I was thinking of adding a firefish to my seahorse tank, and read that they like to be in pairs...would 2 be ok in a seahorse tank?

i dont really know if they would be fine in a seahorse tank seeing as how i dont have one. but i do know that the red ones are very peiceful. they do like to be kept in pairs. i dont know how mean horses can get(if they even do) but if they are peiceful then i would think you should be fine. with just 2. firefish do not like anything picking on them. they will hide if anything does.

I am taking the clown out of the tank my horses are going into and either adding a firefish or a pair of clown gobies. Something to eat leftovers.

I know clowns are usually a no-no, but I have 2 in my seahorse tank, and they go nowhere near the horses....they don't even mess with their food, as a matter of fact they are very calm and peaceful. I had them in there already and believe me my horses are pretty fat...lol...so I know thay are getting their share of the food. I do have 2 yellow clown gobies also, and of course we all know they don't bother anything.

Firefish would be fine for a Seahorse tank. I had one with mine and they got along great.Just make sure you have a lid covering the tank as Firefish are very nervous shy fish and jump when scared.

yes I have a lid on the seahorse tank. Mainly cause I don't want my cat getting in...LOL

I've got a single firefish in the horse tank and he's been fine. Very peaceful, doesn't bother the horses or the feedbowl. IMO a very good tankmate for seahorses.

What do you think about having 2 in a seahorse tank? And I do have a lid on the seahorse tank.

I have a pair in my erectus tank and there fine with the horses.

I have a firefish in with my fuscus seahorse. I also have a neon goby, 2 yellow clown gobies, and 2 oceallaris clownfish (very very peaceful). They all get along very well.

Well my 2 firefish lived thru the fed exp delay (happy to say) they seem fine with the horses...I also have 2 yellow clown gobies, 2 (very peaceful) perc clowns, 1 green goby, a lettuce nudi, a lawnmower blennie..No one messes with the horses.

I just found my Firefish sadly dried on the floor next to me tank the other day.I have a hood on the tank and he still jumped out.

WOW..I'm sorry, he must have been determined though.

Thanks.He never tried to jump out before.We had a power outage from an ice storm the morning of when I think he jumped out.We have a generator for the house but it takes a minute to start up.I think he got scared from the lights turning off so soon and them coming back on. Not sure.But they are escape artist.The only opening I have in the tank is about 1/2 inch.
