Humilis
Put them both up high under the lights and high flow, but don't blast them with current. Just enough to make their polyps sway.

thanks viper!
do you know how hardy these are compared to other corals..... the guy said they were both some of the easier to keep sps corals as long as you have the right lighting calcium and water parameters...
what do you think??
thanks!

aiy there's too many to name. Almost always the more expensive ones are harder to keep. But as you probably already know, all SPS are very sensative.

alright here is some pics of the corals in place....
i moved my bubble coral down on the lower ledge... moved my xmas rock over.... moved my brain around and some shrooms and zoo's
anyways i removed the roick they are on and epoxy'd the sps corals to the rock since they will sit about 2/3rds the way to the top of the tank under a medium flow....
let me know what you guys think of placement and such...
thanks... like i said before these are my first sps pieces and i just wanna make sure that i dont kill them sumhow...

hey viper on the yellow sps coral there are 2 little white crabs on it like they host it or something.... is this ok to leave them there or should they be removed... they look pretty harmless just wondering....
ill try to snap some shots in a lil bit to see if i can catch them out...
thanks

They're called acro crabs. The smooth-shelled guys can stay, but if they're hairy they should be removed.

yeah they are smooth shelled mostly white with a black bar in front of them by there head...
thanks for the info

murph-is that your brain down in the sand?? I am definitely not good at identifying corals but we have a "maze" brain or brain worm like that and I have it up on my rock. Just wondering if they like the sand better or am I just seeing things.

yeah thats my green brain on the sand....
i had him on the rocks before but i just moved stuff around because he was getting in too close to my frogspawn and they would hit each other once in a while.... so i only had room for him on the sand .... he seems to be doing fine.... hes right under neath one of my MH lights so he should have pleanty of light.... hes actually gained a lot more color since i first bought him about 6 weeks ago.... im taking that as a good sign....
how is yours doing??

Love the Humilis Murph! I just got into SPS as well and love em! Going to add more this week. Just got a screaming green Hydnophora last week. Good placement as well.

sounds cool!!!
i dont know exactly what that is but sounds neat...
they have some more pieces at the LFS that i wanna grab .... the smaller frags are like $20-25 and they go up from there....
but they have a really nice blue humulis there too its a deep blue... then they have some other ones that i dont know what they are but all the colors from orange green pink and so on....
yeah i just upgraded lights so i can start sps... i have to move things around in my tank to try and make room for the sps corals.... what do you have in your tank so far and what are they running you as far as cost goes....
anything special you do for them ?? etc??
i picked these 2 pieces since they were nicely colored and all polyps were fully extended i stayed away from any pieces that had a bl,eached look to them.... next i wanna get a pink or green sps whats good as far as those go??
