Hi,just got 2 xenias, first thing ever in my new cycled tank besides some cleanup crew. They seem to be blowing in the current fine....both have opened but not really pulsing at the moment, is this ok? How long does it take them to acclimate? thanks!!
Here at pics!!

THANK YOU, hoping they will do ok....the darker one is so pretty....but both are gorgeous. do you know how long they take until they really acclimate and start pulsing again more?

I got them from my lfs. Trying to get at least the first few things there so I can get some experience. what do you think?

They look great to me. I was asking where you got them because I wanted to see what a xenia from swf.com looks like. From other posts most people are really happy with their orders.
Good luck with your 2 new ones!

It may take a day or so for them to get comfortable. Of course, every tank and coral combination is different. Mine like a little bit of current, but not so much they are whipped around.
This is an older picture. They have grown and attached themselves to the rock behind it in two places. After that, I moved them so they could attach somewhere else.

IME they begin to pulse 5 minutes after being placed in the tank.
I didn't really understand what you meant, but at night they should just shrink up.

My torch coral does the same sort of thing. It is usually completely open and flowing in the current when the lights are on, but sort of shrinks back when the lights are out.

well at least I know that is normal that they shrink up some. I have one sitting kind of low in tank....it seems fine for now but should I raise these up for more lighting? required?
