First corals in tank. Need sme wisdom

Just got two gorgs and something else in the mail. I acclimated them and got them in the tank. The yellow gorg has a whitish film over it. The blue spindly one has some flesh missing on one of the arms. There is something else on the plug. I'm not sure what it is. Like a hard piece of white foam.
My only real question is about the film on the yellow gorgonian.
Pictures are hard for me to get as of now.

gorgonians dont generally make great first corals, most are filter feeders that do best in established tanks.
not trying to kick in the tin can at all on you. there are a few hardier types but most bright and light colored ones are filter feeders. barely relying on photosynthesis. usually an established aquarium is best.
the film could be a cause of worry IMO place the gorgonian in high to moderate/high flow. this may help clear the gorg, of the film. (dont rub it off by hand you could crush or damage any polyps attempting to extend through the film.
thats about all the help I can give, I am still trying to save a piece of purple blade gorgonian from a dying specimin that some one gave me. (I had been looking for a piece of this specimin for months and they had a dying piece, maybe I can save it but its definatly NOT a first coral IMO)

gorgonians are awsome and tempting but they dont make a good first coral. they need an established tank as stated above. with reular feedings they should be fine after the film is gone. i think if you put it in high flow it will come off.
