I have a spot to fill in my 29 and I would like to try out an SPS since all my other corals are doing very well. I have a brain coral that has new growth and all my other saft corals are doing well to. I ahve a Mag 700 so the flow is good and I have a 130watt PC. What kind of SPS can I get I would like a branchy type maybe i nice blue or purple. Pictures please. Thanks

Another one that would probably be a good first acro to try is a bali slimer which is hardy, inexpensive, and very common as they grow quickly under halides and need to be fragged constantly.

I would go with Montipora Digitata as Kip said because it seems to be the easiest to keep alive. They have very brightly colored ones. I just aquired a VERY neon orange Digitata and a Purple on purple and a tan on purple one as shown here. Don't go with the Acro though I don't think you could keep it. There is another Montipora Cappa or something that looks pretty good and its SPS. Heres a crappy picture but to give you an idea on some of the different colors of the digitata.

i agree with pocillopora... i would also suggest a frag of a captive raised seriatopora hystrix (bird's nest)... i just started with sps also and my first sps is the bird's nest.. so far so good.. all goes well and i'm going to get the pocillopora.. but will probably stop there as i don't have metal halides..
