My tank is comong towards the end of its cycle. I am looking for some suggestions for first fish.
The tank is a 55 Gallon (40"x 16" x 24") with 20Kg LR and a Eheim pro 2 filter, & Aqua C Remora Skimmer.
My aim for fish is to have plenty of colour. In the long run I would like to have an unusal looking fish in the tank such as a spotted boxfish or hovercraft boxfish. Please could you recomend first fish based on the above.
This will be a fish only tank with a clean up crew
Many Thanks
Russell

Yes you are right. It is 66US gallons which is 55UK gallons. I think I might have to quote in US gallons as it sounds better!!!

One of my first fish was a Royal Gramma, Very colorful but shy at first, once he gets use to his surroundings he stays out more,Everyone who see's the tank for the first time always compliments on the color of the Royal,He's a looker if you want color :)

Whatever fish you decide on as the first, be sure it the least territorial. Royal Gramma would be a good start also maybe a Diamond Goby or engineer Goby to start cleaning and moving your sand bed.

We started with a 30 gallon we had 3 blue damsels and a scarlet crab they can be agressive
but you can remove the damesels after the tank has cycled best to build a relationship with lfs
bargans arent always the best way to go shop arround ask questions and be patient BUT! establish a relationship with lfs. Hope you find this useful.
