I worked in the family business as an excersize jockey for $2.00 a ride from my grandfather and $1.00 a ride from my cheapskate uncles starting at 10yrs old until 14 1/2 when I grew from 5'4" to 6'1" in a four month span, and my jockey days were over.
First tax paying job @ 16 for Braums Ice cream and Dairy, never made much of a check, but drank about a gallon of milk a day.
Congrats on the job! My wifes 1st ring cost me like $1000, I took her to United jewelers and told her to pick what she wanted, for a college kid who only made $648 a month it was a little tough but we got it paid.
When my son was born I went to Zales and bought a huge ring, I think it's total weight is about 1 1/2 carats. Boy was she surprised when I showed up that afternoon at the hospital with that!
Now for our 21st anniversery this week, the 19th, I agreed to let her get a new wedding band, Man did she surprise me when she came home with this humongous looking solitare with two bands, one on each side loaded with little stones. Now granted I make good money these days, but I'm thinking Lord I'm sunk, then she tells me she got it at wallyworld and it only cost me $198,(cubic Zirconia)
Man did the Lord bless me with a good woman!
