First pics of tank

Hello,
Here are a few pics of my 29gal setup. So far so good...levels are pretty decent with nitrates flucuating between 0 and 5 ppm, everything else seems to be right on. The only thing i am currently dosing is kalkwasser, and that just during top-offs. Doing a 2.5 gal change every few weeks to keep on top of things, but everything seems to be happy for now!
I have a maroon clown that was uncooperative for a photo op...he refuses to get acquainted with the BTA. The purple pseudo seems to have an attitude, keeping the hermits and chromis's(there are 3 total) in check. I have not seen him cause and harm however, at least while i'm watching.
The yellow gobies love to hang out on the leather coral, as you can see in the photo.
I'm also starting to get some green growth on the live rock, which is nicer than the brown bloom i had early on. Most of my snails and hermits ate the algae and continue to keep it in check. I'm also starting to get growth on my base rock, which is encouraging also.
Any feedback or suggestions are welcome.

how do you get your tank water so crystal clear it really looks good i was just wondering because mine never looks like that.

Unbreakabl,
I don't know if i do anything special...i have a regular hang on filter, a seaclone skimmer(which actually performs quite well despite all the bad press), and 2 powerheads which create some nice water flow.
I change out the filter every two weeks max..deritus never seems to pile up due to all the inverts(a total of 36 snails and crabs). The skimmer is now pulling some thick black foam out of the tank on a regular basis.
So in short, i'm not sure if it is attributed to one thing in particular. I would venture to say the small size(29 gal), coupled with the higher filtration(made for a 55gal), and the inverts(super tank cleaners and crap eaters), all help the water to be crystal clear.
I don't use any of those additives that clear the water either. I think good water flow is key, as it never really allows particles to settle, and they get into the filter quicker.

Great looking tank!
BTW, you wouldn't happen to be from the south would you? Hogknuckles?!?
I'm an old Georgia boy myself.

Moby,
LOL no i'm not from the south. 'Hog knuckles' is an inside joke among a few friends of mine.
What do you do in the south with hog knuckles? Eat them? I would imagine the knuckle to be rather bony.
I have a friend that is down with turkey necks. He makes me nervous.
But i digress.
Thanks for all the feedback on the tank!

Yeah, we eat them. Don't knock it til you try it.

Down south, every part of the pig is eaten, from the rooter to the tooter, as my old grandad used to say!

Personally, I'm not real big on some of that stuff, but believe it or not smoked ham hocks are great.
Somebody pass the grits!

I'll try anything once.
Grits are good. I eat them often now. I'm down with the smoked ham too. I wasn't implying i don't like pig products. It had never crossed my mind to consume the joint of the animal.
The whole 'rooter to tooter' mentality makes me a bit nervous. Not many places in Jersey selling hog knuckles i'm afraid.

I think we need to open up a Rooter to Tooter joint in Atlantic City, it would go over huge!!! Honostly Moby, that might be the funniest statement I have ever heard.

I think most sane people would have this same thought!

Angrycrab, I don't think I would pony up to much start up capital for a "Rooter to Tooter" franchise in Atlantic city just yet.

Down south maybe....
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the forum.

Thank you!
I'm letting the tank balance out for the next week or so and get used to the coral and hermit/snail additions i did. Just gonna keep a check on levels for the next two weeks and then add another piece of coral. My LFS had some really nice finger coral, and a huge rock covered in green polyps...they look great under the lights!
I'll post when i make some additions.
