First post of many with question about hooking up my new Octopus Skimmer

I'm new to salt water tanks after having a 125 gal fresh water tank with a giant fire eel years ago. I now have a 50 gal mature salt water tank and want to add a skimmer before upgrading to a 125 gal salt tank.
I picked up this used skimmer on Craigs list and I have absolutely no idea where everything goes or how to incorporate it into my tank. After searching google, youtube I find lots of info but nothing that goes through the instructions of hooking this up. Any help would be appreciated. Photos of where each tube comes from and goes or just some advice. I've seen them stand alone and submerged in overflow tanks under the tank.

Ok you need a feed pump it takes water from the tank or sump and adds it to the skimmer to be cleaned..
The circulation pump is the one attached to the skimmer in the pic, it sucks air in through the air intake and makes the foam.
The red water flow control sets the foam height by cutting the amount of water that can leave the skimmer. Less water out the higher the foam...
If you are not going to put the skimmer in a sump then put it in a tub so if the cup over flows it does not go all over the floor...

Thanks Geo, that makes perfect sense. I'll pick up extra pump and something to catch any mess. Thanks again to everyone that helped with this question.
