first salt setup

I CURRENTLY HAVE 2 FRESHWATER SETUPS AND I PLAN ON DOING MY FIRST SALT SETUP AND I AM DOING ALOT OF RESEARCH AND READING AND IT IS ALL GETTING BLURRY TO (TO MUCH INFO ) I AM GETTING A 125 GAL AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A LION, A SNOWFLAKE ,A PICASSO AND MORE.I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THIS TANK STARTED AS FAR AS LS OR CC TYPE OF FILTERS, I HAVE READ ALOT ABOUT HOW TO CYCLE A TANK WITH CC AND DAMSELS BUT HOW DO I DO THE CYCLE WITH LS AND LR (IM RAMBLING ON HELP)

thanks for the help, if i put the crushed coral over the dsb how deep should both be? also can i do it with just the dsb no cc,and is the tank harder to maintain with dsb and lr rather than a fot with cc? all input will help thanks everyone!!
 
ls, lr and damsels are a good way to get the cycle started. try to get damsels you can live with because they are pain to catch especially in a 125. most aggressive fish are very hardy to begin with. when i started my first saltwater tank the lfs told me to put a bunch different damsels in the tank. i tried catching them but eventually i gave up and left them in there. they eventually became fish food.
