First Tank Please Help

I wouldn't get any snails or crabs for the tank until you see algae start to form - after the fish have been in the tank for at least one water change. We got snails and crabs too soon the first time around and they all died a day after the first water change.

ok thanks on the info for the snails and crabs. I had read on here where someone said they helped w/ the cycle. How much of a water change do I need to make and when? I'm trying to get everything set up right now so when I get my tank it can start cyclin asap... anyone have suggestions about the live rock also?

Hey, update on my tank buying lol. I got 20 lbs black taitian sand (sp) tonight. So anyone have any advice on the water changes?
