They have messed up several orders for me. One sat in the post office for 4 days and they didn't even know it was there. They have a terrible tracking system.
But if it was express shipping you can file a claim and get your money back.

good luck getting your money back, i just went through the same thing and they said it wasn't their fault and it was packaged wrong.. they refunded me the shipping cost but not the cost of the live stock.. keep us posted im interested on what they will do

ok i just pounced on my mail lady and she said it leaked and the postmaster at the place it leaked took it and holding it , cause it could have been hazerdous material
i told her and the post master that it was live corals open it and look for them self! they said there is nothing they can do! i said then your going to replace it, they said no cause it should not have leaked! i said your killing live animals either send it back or give it to me now! well nothing is happening and i was advised to leave or they would call the police!
WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE HELP!

i doubt theyd do anything, especially since its not insured...you may get shipping money but thats it...unfortunately it happens with every shipper, ups, fedex, dhl...just seems usps is a bit worse at it...but happens now and then to all of them...but it is safety procedure if something is leaking they have to check it out...especially if the shipper did not let them know it had liquid inside

sorry, thought you said it wasnt...and even with being insured they probably wont do anything...most USPS won't even ship livestock...so its kind of an uphill battle...i know when i shipped DHL before they said that anything perishable had to be able to make it for 2days, if not then there was nothing they would do.

they did do their jobs...but no reason to let this one thing faulter the rest of your saltwater experience.....and the person you bought from should be replacing if anyone if he didnt package well

It is not a waste of money USPS will refund the shipping cost and the shipper, should refund the coral cost, or at least replace them.
If the box was damaged during shipping, that is the fault of the USPS to replace the amount insured for. If it was improperly packaged and leaked, the the coral supplier should be held responsible.
Either way you should get your money back.
Was it an online vendor or a hobbiest that sold you the corals?

the USPS does not i repeat does not ship anything liquid , fragel , or hazzardous if you are found to have any of this you will be fined! or possable jail! dont send coral threw usps!
i am out 650.00
the person said they did thier job and cannot replace the livestock! so yes it was a waste of my money!
it was a hobbiest that i went threw!

It is not illegal to ship liquids through the USPS, and if it was then the shipper lied, because they ask everyone that ships if it is perishable and if it contains liquid.
If you paid with CC call your CC company and despute the charges let them know that you never recieved you items. If you paid through Pay Pal the same applies, let them know you never recieved your items.
If it was an online vendor, PM me with who it was so I never buy from them, If it was someone on here or another forum let us know that also and leave negative feedback for whoever it was.
You will if you want to get your money back. Don't give up yet.
head up it may not be easy, but you can win this fight.

yes, USPS will ship those things, but they need the person shipping to make sure USPS knows so it can be labeled as so...however, most USPS will not ship livestock that i know of---i would think the person could at least issue partial refund

I'd definitely file a dispute if you paid with paypal...that's a lot of money to be lost!
The shipper sounds like they should be at fault...they chose the shipping method (usps) and they packaged it. If they had used something like a styrofoam container and sealed it then even if the bags or whatnot leaked it would not have leaked out.
Sounds like nobody wants to take the blame but someone should be responsible. Hopefully your post office will get you the package so you can see what condition it is in and who might be to blame. I'd bring a camera if you pick it up at the post office and take pictures right there of the packaging for future reference just in case.
Good luck!

thanks. but the postmaster told me i would have to drive to bronxville to pic it up! 700-800 miles away cant do that lol. the supplier said that they are not responsable because of the post office not shipping it out. that was 2:29pm on the 19th they accepted the package. if it was bad packaging and was leaking then why did they accept it? dosnt make sence. the post office said that they are not responsable because it was leaking!
omg omg omg this hobby is crazzy im 23 and i think i got gray hair comiing in after today!

i talk to the post master and asked what exact policy was violated and he told me that the ELM i guess its a postoffice bible lol says the container thats being shipped has to be a
