I need help with what I will be needing to set up a 55 gallon aggressive tank. Like filtration, heaters, skimmers, ect. I'm probably going to have a 30 gallon fuge/sump. I'm also going to put a 3-4 inch sand bed. Here is the stock list.
-Maroon Clown fish
-Snowflake Eel
-Eibli Angelfish
-Pearlscale Butterfly fish
-Valentini Puffer
-Red Spotted Hawkfish

fwiw i dont have a skimmer, or a sump, or a fuge. its not a must, but it is not a bad idea and i will eventually get one
an agressive tank and no trigger?
protein
Don't triggers get too big for a 55 gall? Yes I know a protein skimmer, but what brand and at what rating?

I thought about the skimmer and I decided that I'm not going to add a skimmer. I'm just going to add a 30 gallon fuge with chaeto and LR which will make a total of 85 gallons.

In a no-sump 55 gal; I think the Aqua-C Remora is, by far, the best I've used or seen. I'd get the bigger "pro" model, but the regular Remora will serve you well.

I'd get the tank reef-ready, get a 20g long sump, make three chambers in the sump, one a refegieum (live mud and macro), a sump (live rock), and the third a skimmer chamber(I like the Coralife Needle-Wheel, but I have only tried that one out).

I'm most likely going to get a reef ready tank. I already have a 30 gall laying around, so I'm just going to use that as my sump/fuge.

I would dump the fuge, get a sump for sure, and a skimmer or very strong canister filter.

The intake/outake are a lot different then what you diagramed, but that's basicly what a sump should look like. I'd say more live rock and less cheato though, IMO.

I know the intake/outake are a lot different then what I diagrammed. It was just easy to draw thats why lol. Ok.

The outake doesn't come back into the tank through the overflow. I think you use a pump and it comes back in behind and up into the tank, like a canister filter.

I know lol. I'm not that good at drawing. But thats close to what its going to look like. So, forgive my horrible drawing.
