First time use RO/DI unit

Okay, so I'm finally setting up my typhoon 3 RO/DI unit. The directions say that if the water is below 77 degrees the output will be lower. Does this mean I should be using hot water, they don't really specify the temperature I should be using.
Thanks for any insight...

you want to be at 77 or lower. if you are lower then your gpd will be lower. I recamend getting about 25 feet of the piping using it as your intake line. then coil it up in a buket of water with a heater

okay, honestly I will never look more stupid than when I'm trying to anything w/any sort of plumbing. The tubing at the inlet leaks a lot when I turn on the faucet. Any guesses why? Is there something really obvious that I should have done, or should I try to plug it up w/something (if so, what?). Thanks...

If it has a hose type connection does it have a rubber washer in there? If not then that is probably your problem.
I run my with inlet water at about 55 degrees. But I use it to fill a tank and it is hard piped so I don't really care how fast mine produces water. You could also just throttle hot water into it as well. Say lukewarm water the touch.

Okay, so here's the unit

This is a closeup of the left side, where the inlet is and this is where it is leaking when I turn on the faucet.

I don't think there is a rubber washer I can put there...if there is though, that is probably where I went wrong. And just to clarify, water is running into the unit, it's just leaking as it does so.

pull the pipe back out and make shure nothing is in the fitting then push it all the way back in and give it a pull back out with out releacing the lock

Is it leaking at the hose end or the cartridge housing end?
Hose end -- Push the hose in and pull back on it.
Housing end - unscrew it and put a little teflon tape around the threads.

lol, okay I'll see what I can do w/that info and probably I can start getting some actual RO/DI water, if not...you'll hear back from me!
Thanks

Leakage problem is fixed...turns out I didn't push them in far enough. Hopefully everything will run smoothly now. I appreciate everyone's willingness to help me as well as their patience.

Okay, another question :) My unit came w/a TDS-3 meter. It doesn't really come w/directions. It has 3 buttons ("hold", "temp", and "on/off"). How do I use the meter?
Do I push the "on/off" button and then place it in the water to get a reading, is it that simple or is there more to it? Thanks again for any input.
