dang Member Sep 24, 2008 #2 Sorta, you should use RO/DI water, mix it with the salt and a small heater before putting it in the tank, making sure the temp and salinity are correct before putting it in.

spanko Active Member Sep 24, 2008 #5 Distilled is fine. Mix the salt in to the desired Sg, put in a power head for circulation and a heater 24 hours before using it. you will be fine.
