my huma trigger and yellow tang, are at the top of my tank floating very close next to each other. the huma is not nipping at the tang at all, the tang does at times acts as if he wants to back up and sting the huma. but other wise, they are just side by side. they have never done this before.
what are they doing? my huma never leaves the bottom of my tank, unless it is feeding time.

tangs cant "sting" but i think i understand what you mean,, and if he is doing that .. the whole backing up into him and fannign that means that is an unhappy tang,, most likely they are fighting and somethign has happend.. what are the tanks pecs? whata bout tankmates??

i have never seen the trigger pick on my tang before, but his fin has been bit at. which i have blamed the huma trigger. BUT, my tang is the healthiest i have ever seen him. and i have had him for at least 3- 4 yrs, his fin has grown back in, and swimming around more. that is why is think this is so weird. could this be new found frienship ha ha. i have only had the trigger for maybe 2 yrs. it has only been the last 6 mo. that the tang has been picked on. i also have a black trigger and spotted grouper. :happyfish :happyfish
