fish compatability question

I cannot keep a royal gramma and a blackcap basslet in the same tank, right? I have a 55 gallon.

I wouldn't reccommend it. I had a Royal Gramma and a Psuedocromis in the same tank and the psuedo killed the royal gramma. I guess their body shapes were too similar.

Blackcap basslet isn't a pseudochromis, its a gramma, aka basslet.

At any rate royal grammas and blackcaps will tend to fight. In a really large tank, maybe, but not in a 55.

Wax, you have too much knowledge on all this
I know the diffence in the two. I guess I didn't make my point very clear. I was trying to convey that fish in the basslet family don't always like other fish with similar body shapes... or something to that effect.

I am very new to the hobby and I have some questions on compatability as well. I bought a 180 gallon tank, bought live sand, live rock. I cured the rock and the cycled the tank like everyone said to do. Now what? I have no clue what fish to buy or add. i live in a small town and there is no lfs close by. Can anyone give me a starting point.
