ok I am planning on putting the following in my 55 gallon non reef tank:
1 yellow tang
1 Valentini Puffer
1 Green Mandarin
1 Flame angel
and I going to try some inverts for a clean up crew. I have read that its about 50/50 if the puffer will eat the inverts.
What do you guys think?

Would be a colorful combination, but the mandarin is a very bad idea. Read some threads about these fish, but basically, they need 100 lbs of established liverock(6 months old or so) to survive. Anybody will tell you this from experience on this forum. There is probably no exceptions. As a suggestion, firefish gobies (regular, purple, or banded) are very active, hardy, inexpensive. They were are more entertaining than the mandarin.
