fish Id help

I caught this fish diving on a reef in Fort Lauderdale. He has been in my 55 for a month and has been a model citizen. Just starting to wonder what he is. I was thinkig some type of Goby at first but now I am leaning more toward some type of sand perch. Any ideas?

i have no clue what that is. However, I am curious as to how you catch fish on your own. Do you scuba? or net? or what?

I saw an anemone diving out of Destin one day that I think would have almost filled my 55. I have seen several different species of anemone also though not sure which ones. As far as coral I have some gargonians in my tank that are wild. They do very well, just have to make sure what you take is legal and you know you are not going to kill it by taking it off reef. As far as what we catch and knowing whether or not it is reef safe or not. I try to know what It is before dumping it in the tank and if it is not reef safe you can just throw it back in the ocean. Just wish someone could id this one for me because never did figure it out.

Looks like some type of goby with that little mouth. I will search on line and see if I can come up with an answer. Lesley

I saw a fish on several sites that kind of look like him called a Wheeler's Watchman goby. It is difficult to tell as none of the pictures are very clear on these sites. Lesley

Looks like a saddle blenny. I have one in my tank but it cost me $15. Mine has turned out to be a great fish and acts much like a hawkfish moving from rock to rock begging for food. Very passive toward others in the tank but first in line to eat. You'll be happy with him! Look up saddle blenny online and you can find some pics. I'm computer illiterate otherwise I would post a picture.
