Fish is back from the dead!

I had a 4 inch harbour goby that I bought off SWF.com a while back now. I acclimated him using drip, I put him in the tank, and he went right into the rocks, never to be seen again. I mean NEVER!!! not for food, or anything. I had pretty open rock work and I could clearly see about 85% of this tank... plus the fish was huge.
I assumed him dead and eaten and moved on.
Turns out, after about 2 months, he just showed up and started hangin out on the open sand bed. And he had GROWN. Strange little creatures, gobies are. :)
Glad your's was okay.

I dont know how he survived! Thats why its weird, and he wasn't skinny or anything, he looked perfectly healthy! strange..

Mine looked healthy too... it's good that he is alive though. Better than being dead and you having to buy a new fish. :0)

Haha, that's cool.
I guess the lesson is never assume something is dead until you've seen it's body.
I just figured my hermit crabs ate it or it was in the rocks somewhere!

I had that happen to two of my animals: my flasher wrasse once took a weeklong vacation, only to appear again one day as if nothing happened. A long time ago I bought a small 3 inch dia. serpent seastar for the tank, drip acclimated him SLOWLY, and added him to the tank. He disappeared almost immediately, only to suddenly crawl out of the rockwork MONTHS later...and he was huge!! Like Rlaban, I assumed the sea star had died and been eaten by the CUC.

It's kinda cool to see them come out later, although I would rather they not have disappeared at all!
