My female clown just jumped out of the tank.....I went to put in seaweed on clip and she went to bite me. I pulled my hand away and she followed and jumped out on the floor. Damn mean fish I scooped her up and put her back in. I think she is OK. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? I am now afraid of putting my hand in the tank. She bit me earlier this morning during my water change.

How big is she? Is it an actual bite or just kind of bumbing you because her mouth is too small to actually get hold of anything?

Step 1: Check your water paramaters. Might be a heat or chem issue.
Step 2: Get a Lid or egg crate. A lot of salt water fish will jump or spit water.

There is a lid..I lifted it to put the sea weed on the clip. She is about three inches she is six plus years old. I have a bite mark on my arm. She is a part of a mated pair that has layed eggs before I purchased her.

Normal then. She is protecting her space. Get a pair of gloves she can't bite through when you have your hands in the tank.

Ha, yes my maroon clown was 'nice' for a while, then got this thing for attacking the magnet on the inside when i would clean the glass. From there it would 'look' at my hand when i put it in the tank, then soon after it would full out attack and tried to bite me. The first time it tried I almost fell over backwards because I was not expecting it, damn brave fish! Now I use a glove because I do not trust him!

My maroon floor surfed once. If I look over the tank she jumps at me and when I had an anemone she attacked my hand all the time. She splashes water everyday as well, lively minx!
