These are the fish I am hoping two have in a 55g tank. This will be my first tank.
1 Gold Stripe Maroon Clowns
1 Cloudy Damsel
1 Blackcap Basslet
3 Blue Reef chromis
1 Flame Angel
1 Scooter Blenny
1 Shrimp Goby
This is most likely to many, but over about the course of a year was the time period I was hoping to stock the aquarioum. I will also get 10 blue leg Hermits, a Cleaner Shrimp and a Fire Shrimp, an anemone and a Red Gorgorian.

first, this is way too many fish for a 55...doesn't matter how long it was going to take you to stock them...55 gallons is just not enough space...especially for the tang. rule of thumb for them is they need at least 6 ft of horizontal swimming space, of which you don't have..(unless your tank is like 2" high...
mandrins can only be kept in the most established reef tanks becuase they are copepod eating machines and that is the ONLY thing they will eat.
i doubt you even have the space for that flame angel and the maroon clowns are one of the larger and more aggressive species. so unless they are mated already and you know that for sure...don't chance it. you don't have enough space in that tank for them to have space to swim around without crossing each other's territory. go with true percula clowns. or if you still want the maroon...just one.
that's just SOME advice...
anyone else feel free to chime in

I agree. Skip on the tang and mandarinfish. Skip on the cardinalfish as well. It'll be killed with the agressive fishes in your tank. They are best kept in a peaceful communtiy.

I got rid of one clown, replaced the manadrin with a scooter blenny, and looked at the angel and found it is reef safe. Hopefully this list is better. I wil wait a year to put the blenny in and six months for the angel. please look and the first quote and re-read the list.

it's not that the angel is or isn't reef safe.
coral beauties and flames are reef safe (the flame with small amount of monitoring)
but the size tank is what the issue is.
they still need plenty of space to graze and exhurt energy

Personally I think a 55 is fine for a pygmy angel. And they might pick on corals; it's a risk you'd take. You're probably pushing it with a Yellow Tang, though.
