Fish Loss

We picked up some live rock from someone and added it to our tank. We "washed" it with our water and put it in. We had a drastic ph drop and lost 1 fish. We did a 10% water change and ph was up and all test were normal. Then a bacteria/fungus hit. We now have 0 fish. It worked fast, just 2 days. How do I get this out of the tank so we can fish again?

My guess is the rock must not've been fully cured when you stuck it in your tank. When you say "bacteria/fungus", what exactly does it look like? A picture would be good too. :)

Well, we don't have any fish left to get a picture but it was like a white slime coat over them. Some had a cottony string coming off of them.

It sounds like the fish had some sort of bacterial or parasitic infection (could've been Brookylnella). To ensure whatever it is will not infect your next fish, or at least greatly reduce the chances of getting it, I would raise the temperature of the tank to about 82 (this can speed up the life of a parasite) and leave it like this for about 6-8 weeks.

Don't get fish now. Let your rock cure and when you have had excellent water conditions in the tank for at least a month, then you can add fish again. 1 fish at a time.
If you have a QT you can get 1 fish now and start him out in the QT. If you don't have a QT, now is a great time to think about setting one up.
