Fish now and anemones later?

I've been spending most of my swf time on the new hobbyists board, but I've got a question here. I know I eventually want a couple clown fish and an anemone. Does it matter which I put in first? I know I need to wait at least 6 months before putting in an anemone, and I need to upgrade my lighting first as well. But should I get the fish early in my stocking plan and add the anemone later? Or wait and get the fish after I have the anemone? Thanks for your input!

if i was u i would get a mated pair then wait for a while and add the anemone.
but it dosent really matter.
or actually get the anemone first because there is a huge change it might die. so get the anemone and wait for a week c if it dies if it dosent get the fish.

I would get two juvinile clowns, they will get along and become a pair. One will establish dominance and grow larger, female. This is the cheapest way, mated pairs are pricey. They will grow and by the time your tank is ready you can add the anemone. What kind of clowns/anemone are you considering?
Post pictures of you additions, we love pictures. : )
Anemones are delicate and need a very stable well established system with good strong lighting. Provied them these things and they will thrive. I would not buy an anemone if it had a huge chance of dying. Make sure it is healthy and in a healthy tank and it will thrive. BTW usually when a healthy anemone is added to an inadequate system they can linger for weeks or months before dying, usually is not overnight.

i would get the clowns and wait about the anemone.. THey don't need the anemone and you may find them hosting a plant or xenia or something else and decide you don't need an anemone.
side note.....my clowns from juv stage took about a year before they actually ever hosted anything....they would hang by my PH's by not "host" they started hosting one day on a patch of hair algae and now have been hosting things ever since

If your system is ready it's always better to get the anemone first to allow it to settle in and establish itself before it begins taking a beating from the clownfish it may host.

do a lot of research on the anemone first before you decide to get one....they are delicate creatures to take care of...from lighting to feeding to WATER QUALITY, and their survival rate is just not good in the home aquarium.

Do what you already know is best. wait on the anemone. Your clowns may host right away or maybe never. Took my maroon about 10 minutes and my ocellaris 9 months. But don't worry about that now. Just get a couple nice healthy fish and enjoy them. : )
