Fish on one side of tank

Not sure if anyone has asked this before, but most of the fish I have tend to stay on one side of the tank. Was not sure if this was just normal behavior for most fish or not. Just seems odd they are not swimming all over the tank rather than just hanging out in one half of the tank. Water params are fine, just did a water change, and have 2 ph's going. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mine do that too ....It seems sometimes all of them hang out on the left side, then the right, sometimes the middle, and sometimes they are all over the place...LOL

Well that helps. They usually only stay on the one side and very rarely divert to the other, and the sleeper goby seems to only want to clean the sand on one side, as opposed to the "dirtier" side. Was not sure if this was a flow thing or not, but if others do it, must be fish nature. Thanks again you guys.

Oh and why I have some of ya'll, have you tried the seaweed sheets and been successful? I bought them, followed directions and added to the clip, and received no response at all. The fishes had access to it, but they just kinda stared at it. Any opinions on this?

I bought the green, red, and brown, and it doesn't last more than a few minutes in my tank. The tangs eat it the most.

all of my fishes tend to hang out by the right side. i think it may hv to do with me always feeding them at the right side.

Odd mine are on the right side also. maybe it could be due to the right side is near a wall and everyone walks past the left side to go into another room. Maybe? just another theory I guess, LOL

Mine spend most of their time on the left...lol...which is by the walkway, not the wall, I also feed in the center....

I guess no rhyme or reason, just won't worry about it. And BTW, figured out my first bully in the tank, flasher wrasse, sad part is he is pretty when he is pissed off, LOL

Mine ALWAYS hung out on the left side of the tank until I put more rock in and did some new aquascaping. That has seemed to mix them up enough that they swim all over the place now. Even my yellow watchman doesn't have just one hole that he hangs out in, there are a few little burrows throughout the tank.
I've also had some fish that won't touch the seaweed sheets. My coral beauty won't go anywhere near them. I had green & brown and my yellow tang LOVED the green but wouldn't touch the brown. Some are just picky eaters, I guess...

Fish are like people some are home bodies preferring the safety of a small area of your tank while others are more explorers constantly moving and investigating your tank

My clown never goes too far from his cave on the left. I have a great big carpet anemone on the right and never crosses the center line so to speak... go figure
