I've gotta 55gal, I think. It's 4'x 1.5'x 1'. I just added some black sand over the gravel in my tank. Will that kill all the living orgs in the gravel? Should I mix it instead of laying it on top? I have been running my tank for about 9 months now w/out anything but ~20lbs lr. I put sand in b/c I was going to get a dragon goby to do some cleaning. I am going to go buy a Lionfish this week. I am now thinking about a snowflake eel. Would I have to nix the goby idea? What order should I add the fish? I was thinking Lion, eel, then maybe a Tang or Husk later down the road.

Are you going with just a sand bed? If so just remove the gravel. I not to long ago removed all my crushed coral and added 4inchs of sand.
When adding fish: Add the most aggressive fish last.
