Butterfly fish, Heniochus', Tangs all get pretty large. IMO, that is WAY too many fish for a 75 gallon tank. It will become far too crowded, and your tank most likey will not be able to handle the bio-load.

How Many Fish Should Be In A 75 Gallon Tank?? What Fish Would You Eliminate ? I Love The Butterfly Fish.. Will The Heniochus Butterfly Be O.k. If I Just Have 2 Of Them..

4 Clown Fish
1 Gramma

Still too many. Here is an equation that will help you....
* 1 inch of fish per 2 gallons of water *
You do realize how large those fish get, right?

still too many fish. you would be ok with 2 of the butterfly's, no heniochus's, clowns and the gramma, plus any invert really that you want. that general rule for 1" of fish for 2 gallons is a very bad measurement, i use to think it was ok when i first started, but it's really more like for every inch of fish you should have 5 gallons, but even this is not accurate as that every fish is different and it really doesn't matter the size of them, it's the kind that matters.

like the guy above said just do what you want with it but be reasonable. If you like Butterfly fish so much the important thing to do is research how big they get and if they would get along and how much open space they have. I think those 3 butterfly fish you listed if you don't add anything else big in the tank will be fine. I mean it's important to do research but if you always go by the book exactly how can you enjoy the hobby? a lot of people stay away from BF fish. they are beautiful though, i have a dot dash but i'd like to have one of the bf fish you listed sometime.

i've seen some pretty big heniochus's picture the normal size you get in the lfs when they are juvy's like 3 inches long about and multiply that by 4-5 times that size mostly body wise not lenght wise. now put 2 in there. that's what u'll be lookin at. they get about 7 inches long and you know that they are taller than they are longer so you can imagine how big they get.if i were you i'd stop right where you are unless you plan on getting rid of something or a bigger tank in the future. i'm sure they'd be ok for now, except butterfly fish are hard to keep which you might want to think about, but in the future if they do make it the heny's will need a bigger tank. the other butterfly's probably will be ok i'm sure cause they don't get to be huge like the heny's. heny's though are good fish though so if you'd like to keep them for a little while i see no harm in that even though i don't really agree with that. good luck man.
