Fish scratching themselves?

I have had them about 6 months I'd say. I had 3 fish die in the past 2 weeks and I can't figure out why. Nitrites and ammonia are at 0. Ph is 1.022.

If its a parasite that is causing them to scratch like they are a fresh water dip should do em wonders. I do have a clown and a fire fish who routinely dive into the sand bed and surf along it.......I dipped em both, numerous times, and continue to sand surf, but best I can tell is its just their way of stirring up the sand bed and looking for food particles.....Scratching on rocks is another thing altogether though and I would certainly suspect parasites. That is unless yur water parameters are out of wack, as bad water parameters can also cause em to do things like that. So make sure your parameters are good, and then if they continue on rubbing against rocks etc do a fresh water dip.

Fish will almost always scratch themselves when they have ich. Does it have any white spots on it resembling granules of sand?

Yes, freshwater dip means to put the fish in freshwater. You can find more details in the archive section of this site.
You basically put the fish in a bucket of fresh water but the PH and Temp need to match between the dip water and your tank water. You only keep them in the fresh water for about 5 minutes or until you notice the fish starting to stress.

That would cause them to stress and get ich, right?
