fish selection

I currently have a 75 gallon with about a dozen corals(mostly LPS).
I have 3 fish( 2 clowns with anenome) and 1 blue hippo I have had for about 5 years. The hippo should really be in a bigger tank. I thought about trading him and getting some credit in my LFS.
I would like to get 3 or 4 small tangs to replace him with.
My question is what kinds has everyone had luck with mixing.
I have been told by someone in the past that it is not good to mix "similar shaped" tangs. For example I think the shape of the nose and head of a scopas tang is simliar to a yellow tang. Does that mean if I put them in there together they are more liely to fight than say a yellow tang and a hippo ?
I would appreaciate any thoughts ? Although I have had the Hippo forever and hate to give him up, 75 is really not enough for him and he will not let me put any other tangs in there without going after them with klliing in his mind !!!!
I hope I can get svereal reponses from this. I know lots of people keep tangs so please respond everyone !!!!!!

75 gallon tank is not big and tangs need a lot of swimming room. Imo i would say you could put a yellow tang in there by himself and maybe get some other fish in its place. its gonna tough in the smaller tank if you get more than one tangs, i would almost bet they would start to fight

I think 4 tangs is too many for a 75 gallon. They will quickly outgrow the space and then you will have another problem. I also think you should probably stick to 1 or 2 tangs in that size aquarium. Maybe get a baby blue hippo tang and a yellow tang? The answer to your question about tangs is unless you have a substantially large tank...200gallon range, keep the shapes different. I successfully keep a 4-5inch blue hippo and 5-6inch yellow tang in a 120gallon. They seem to lie and work well together.
I would forget the 4 tangs and get some variety. Anthias trio, gobies, blennies...and a couple tangs maybe...good luck. Oh and I almost forgot, good luck catching your hippo
without pulling your hair out. You may change your mind...Seriously though, let us know how it goes.

You could also look at the yellow eye Kole tang also they are a nice tang and when I set up my 75 gal there will be one in it.. I had my heart set on a Whitecheek or a Powder Brown but they are not conducive to a 75 gal tank...
