well incase anyone was wondering i found it out myself fish can see in color. Fish eyes contains about 125 million "rod" cells which distinguish between light and dark and close to 6 million "cone" cells which distinguish colours. Each cone cell contains a visual pigment which absorbs light of a particular wavelength, generally between 400 and 700 nanometres (nm); the range of visible light.

all fish can see in color... although the amount of cells in their eyes change with age and species...
theyre are 2 types of fish which can also see uv 300-400nm that is the "japanseese dance fish" and the common goldfish.
