FISH: Small tank

I have a 20 gal. aquarium I recently started, now that it has cycled,
what would be a good/safe amount of fish to put into it.
What other types would be small enough stock it with other than clowns/damsels.

Good safe fish depends on the size. Unless you like damsles i wouldnt keep them because they will bully other fish. You could get goby's blennys.

I think you could put a firefish or a jawfish in a 20 gallon.

Best to to do 2 clowns...? Arnt they better in pairs.

what is the best way to deal with the alge growing on the sand?
I cleaned it off the sides ok, but the sand gets sucked up in my vac.
