Fish Suggestions for 40 gal reef?

My boyfriend is currently in the process of setting up a 40 g reef tank. Currently he has 3 fish in it, a royal gramma and a pair of blueyed clarkiis. What types of other fish would ya'll recommend for it? He likes Banggai Cradinals but I thought that may be to many fish in the middle height of the tank and maybe we should shoot for something like a goby or blenny. What do you think?

Has the tank cycled?? How old is it??

Its about 5 months old at least. It is very well cycled water conditions are almost always near perfect, maybe nitrates at 10 occcasionally. He is just taking it slow so that is why I said "in the process of"

Lawnmower Blennys are awesome fish!! Lots of personality.

i think he wants to get a blenny so do lawnmower blennies take regular foods? He also liked the midas blenny.

my lawnmower eats the frozen stuff i throw in there but wont eat the pellet food i put in. but he tears up the algea

hes definately a cool fish. you could also consider a yellow watchman goby or a shrimp goby and a pistol shrimp to go with him. i hear they form a really cool relationship with eachother.
