Fish suggestions??

I have a 55 gallon tank, currently have:
1 Niger Trigger
1 Lawn Mower Blennie
1 Damsel (blue with yellow tail) ??
9 Hermit Crabs
10 Turbo Snails
1 Peppermint Shrimp
I have approx. 2-3 inch of live sand and 25 lbs of LR.
I love the inverts, but would also like to see more movement in my tank - the trigger hides a lot as does the blennie, so most of the time it looks like all thats there moving around is the damsel.
Any suggestions??:notsure:

Your trigger might kill your new fish that enter the tank. So you might want to be careful when adding new fish. The only type of tang i would suggest you adding are kole tangs or possibly a yellow tang. Maybe you can try a wrasse, just watch your inverts...if it is not a reef safe wrasse it will eat some of your inverts.

I appreciate the advice. I bought a Choc Chip Star and a cleaner shrimp, but my LFS assured me I wouldn't have any problems with the trigger. Boy were they wrong - it took him a total of 10 min. and he had totally destroyed the shrimp - I had moved away from the tank for that brief amount of time and came back to a heartbreaking discovery.

Your trigger will pick on any new inhabitants. Maybe you should get rid of it and get a different fish. Just an option.

I am planning on returning him to the LFS - they said they will give me a full store credit.

The 55 is a trial run - I have a 125 gallon that everything will eventually move to and then the 55 should be established enough to do a seahorse only tank.
I don't have the correct lighting to support a reef system and was quoted approx 250 - 300 to change what I have over so for now will just have to make do with some LR and fish.

hmmm a seahorse only tank...I heard those are very difficult to maintain. I would like to see this when you are finished.

I have been told the same thing by quite a few people, but when I inquired at the store on the weekend as they had a couple in stock - he informed that I could put them in right now. Hmmm - me thinks I should be wary of LFS.
Once I get this going - it will be quite some time though as I would rather be sure everything is stable - I will definately post some pics.
