my suggestion.... make sure you feed the wrasse well...as he is not the safest reef fish.
he will decimate your snails if he gets hungry....

youve got room enough for a different tang

the wrasse is the fish we've had the longest and he is a pig. have never seen him go after a snail before
i dont even think he's 2inches long but he's deff fat! idk if im ready to try another tang...not after all the trouble these were to keep alive in the beginning!! its ok if they go after snails and crabs...those im not to worried about. its the corals, the clam and my shrimps i dont want to lose! lol

I'm jelous..I have a small tank and can't have a tang! Although I'm not big on alot of fish, those I like! I'm more of a strange animal type.. anemones, star fish, shooms and corals, shell fish, but that is just me...the wierder the better! Good luck with what ever you decide, I'd love to see pics of your set up now... :jumping:

Achilles tags are nearly impossible to keep. They are right up there with black tangs, clown tangs, and atlantic blues in my opinion.
I like your thought. A pair of purple firefish would look very nice in there.

what about a coral beauty or lemonpeel angel? they are small reef safe and pretty hardy. i am unsure of compatibility with your other fish so forgive me if i angels dont' work with them.

Personally, I would never call a coral beauty or lemon peel angel "reef safe"? They live on coral reefs and very prone to nipping at coral.
Sure, some do not bother corals, but there are always those that do. If you got stuck with one that did and had to tear apart your tank to get it out, that would not be fun at all.

yea im not going to try a coral or a lemonpeel, even if some of them are im not going to risk all the stuff we have and the headache of catching it

Hm, well firefish can definitely be a jumping fish. That wold concern me a little bit. How long have you had the diamond goby? Is it still being harrassed?

have had the diamond goby for about a month, the lawnmower had it in a different tank and this tank for about 2-3months. the goby is being harassed somewhat, not as often as it was. he holds his own, has burrows throughout the tank, backs in the burrow and opens his mouth big. he eats great (mysis and everything else we feed) and sifts the sand. the boyfriend wants a yellow watchman too. lol.

i hate to say it, but maybe im thinkin of a hippo lol. of course a smaller one (2-3"). o yea, and read somewhere koles dont get along w/ lmb...but if he would teach my lmb a lesson, it may be worthwhile

melly
o yea and here's a pic of the little jerk  and the sixline wrasse that has an attitude also!

Oh yeah, sorry, it's been a long day. Yeah, LMB's and koles do not mix well. Koles usually beat them out for their territory.
A hippo would be a good choice, IMO.

I think that's what i'm gonna do when we go down to the wholesaler!! I really wanted to get this volitan lion from work who eats frozen krill like it's going out of style. He's beautiful and a PIG. I didn't care too much if he ate the chromis, but we have 2 cleaner shrimp and a fire shrimp, and i dont want to lose them...
