Fish tank Gadgets

Aparently I need to get some gadgets in order to get the tank up and running. wooo hooo. Good thing I was going to homerdepot today to get more of the buckets, I will have to put egg crate on the list of things to buy.

I used to use eggcrate in my wet/dry to separate various filter media. I guess eggcrate has multiple uses.

I had to ask hubby what ya'll meant by egg crating. When I think of egg crating I think of that soft foam people put on their beds to make it more comfortable. I was trying to figure out how the heck that would help with keeping the live rock in place. LOL. Oh well, I keep on learning. Of course I have seen it at all the LFS usually in their tanks of coral but didn't know that was what it was called. Hubby got a good chuckle at my question.

I did pick up 2 more buckets and a sheet of the egg crate. I didnt realize it would be $13 for a sheet of it. No worries. Already broke off the piece i need for the bottom of the tank (excellent idea btw) and have the rest hanging out next to the tank for use in the sump. I did notice how no one posted a pic of a bucket. We kinda have a ton of these dont we?

yeah, just so we are all on the same page. This egg crate has nothing to do with eggs or crates.
You find it in the lighting section at Home Depot or lowes or whereever. it's the little square grids that go in flourecent lighting.
Also works fantastic for a tank cover to help prevent fish from jumping out,
and as frag racks. use PVC legs and a little peice of egg crate and you have sweet little holes to drop your frag plugs into.

Yea, while at homerdepot i was debating picking up some PVC tubing. I didnt but i also wasnt sure about the size of the tube to get for psuedo caves for the fish to go into and hide. Then again, I also havent decided to get a "sunken ship" with holes in it for the fish to go and hide out in there. I am sure at some point, I will be getting some PVC tubing for something.
