Fish...

When ever i buy a fish, usually one that doesn't cost much. It always ends up dieing. I've had it sence April 26 7 months, and i've had several fish. All the fish i get are cheaper and are easier to take care of. Right now i have a royal gramma and two clowns, with a 110 gal. tank. Right now the gramma isn't doing too well, Im positive the tank has cycled. I've checked all the things their all in their ranges of goodness. What could i be doing wronge? I fed them quality salt water fish food and have quite a few pounds of live rock. Is this hobby not right for me. Also i've cleaned it recently, and done water changes. Would it be better if i just switched it so fresh water. I have a ten gal that is so easy to take care of.

Have you ever dosed any medication into that tank?
What do they fish do before they die?
Any signs of disease?

all the fish that have died start to lay on the sides and swim, usually on the bottom, when they die they get a pinkish or purpleish color on their noise, i've asked my local pet store and they couldn't figure it out

i just checked the gramma and he isn't breathing as hard but he's still at the bottom, isn't on his side and doesn't have the pink purpler on his mouth and nose. I guess he is trying to sleep now, but i'm still worried about him

Please be more specific about your water parameters. It could be alot of things. The fish could already be sick from the store, it could be your acclimation method. Please elaborate.

i don't think it's the acclimation because the fish usually die about a week after i get them. I get my fish from a lfs. I know they sell sick fish because i've asked a lot of questions there and they also usually have the sick ones with a do not buy sticker

But sometimes it takes diesease a while to put it into motion. My one yellow tang died due to temperature fluctions 2 weeks before.

Your LFS wouldn't happen to have a '*****' sign in front of it?
If so, don't ever buy another fish from them again, that's the reason they're dying. ***** is notorious for having poor conditioned tanks that are filled with diseases. Ever wonder why they don't guarantee their saltwater fish? The only way I'd ever buy fish from ***** is if I can purchase the fish before it hits any of their diseased tanks.
