when i add first fish in my new tank, should it be necessary to keep in quarantine tank and then i keep my new display tank?
how long i keep my first fish in quarantine tank and move to display tank?
It's wise to quarantine and even treat all fish for 8 weeks in hyposalinity before moving them to your display.

I thought 8 weeks was the count down for ich, if after 4 weeks that parasite is not there...would you still recommend 8 weeks? I always went by 4 weeks, that's why I'm asking.

I've quarantined for as little as 10-14 days if I know/ trust where the fish has came from. However, for new hobbyists that aren't really sure of what they're looking at yet, 8 weeks is the best route to go.

I hope this works out for you, IMO a Yellow Tang should be added last (not first) because they can get territorial and agressive. I think the rule of thumb here is least agressive to most agressive, one fish at a time.
Good Luck.

How large is your tank?...if you already said just refresh my mind...I forget who has what tank. I always have a favorite fish and build the others around it...even if it has to be added last, I plan on it's being in there eventually. I think you should stay with fish the right size for your tank and not plan on moving it out later after it grows. I also (because it's a favorite fish) like to have a dwarf anglefish, they are all so pretty, it's a shame we can keep only one per tank.
Use the QT, every 4 weeks if the fish is healthy and no problems arise.... add a new fish, and transfer the healthy fish to the DT. That also give your main tank time to adjust to the new addition.

boss,
damsel is also agressive fish , why people start with Damsel fish as well ...i tell you why people start with damsel in newly recycled tank because Damsel is much cheaper than yellow tang :)
