Fishes in Direct Sunlight

I recently moved my tank near a window that has direct sunlight in half of the tank for a few hours. Other than algae growth, is there any reason I should not allow the direct sunlight into the tank?
Thanks,
Anthony

I had a FW tank in sunlight a few years ago and got a horrible green algae bloom in the water, it was so bad you couldn't even see the back of the tank. Absoloutely nothing would get rid of it, I had to take the tank down. I will never put another tank in the sunlight.

Other than the algae?? Temperature. If you can still keep the temp stable and you don't mind the algae then it should be OK.
