Fission Nano Skimmer Junk

I have one in my Nano Cube deluxe. I put it in the left chamber in the back so it's out of sight. As for making this thing work it's hit or miss. I have noticed that the water level has to be just perfect, about 3/4 of the way up on the chamber, measured from the bottom. Even then it still doesn't work that great. I guess a little skimming is better than nothing. I can't imagine it could be much better on a 24 gal though, considering it doesn't skim that much. I think it's just a poor design. I know this isn't much, but your not alone on this one.

Who knows....I agree that a little is better than none, I basically just have a little whirlpool effect and that's it.....
Did you upgrade your main pump for your cube? I put in a MJ1200 and have a lot of movement.....I also put on the dual nozzle/output so I didn't end up with a hurricane in the tank.

No I did not upgrade the pump but that sounds like a good idea. I put small power head in the oposite corner of the tank, but I dont think it's doing the trick. I think I will look at replacing the pump idea ( I feel dumb for not thinking of that :thinking

What kind of stocklist do you have? I have a pair of oscellaris clowns and a bicolor blenny.
I think I need more hermits/snails.
No worries on the pump--I thought I wanted to improve my GPH, so that seemed to be the way to go.
I still don't like the skimmer---I've been messin' with it all day!

I have a maroon clown and a green spotted puffer that I converted to "full" salt water. He is only and inch in length now, but will eventually be moved into my 75 gal. Also there is a pepermint shrimp and some hermits. Like you, I'm still messin' with that D@m skimmer!
