Mess88, why are you so cynical? Not everyone has perfect water quality. Even if their water parameters are good, we still need to ask, just to be able to rule out whether it is a problem with the water. If the poster does not want to be honest and tell us that their nitrate is at 80 ppm, that is their loss. We are not losing anything by not being able to help a person, but the person lying could be potentially losing a fish.
Most people are honest though. You would be surprised how many people report a bad water parameter here and there. Then, by them admitting the problem, we are able to help them fix the issue.
There are plenty of smart people who work at local fish stores. I have worked at a few, and always enjoyed my time there. It is a great place to learn new information and help people who may need some advice. Even if it is not always the best pay, it is nice to know that you are able to help so many people with their aquariums.
Please, do not hijack other people's threads. Steve needs help with his problem. If you do not have anything helpful to offer, please do not post.
