Flame angel loses eye!

My flame angel had what looked like was popeye on his left eye 2 days ago. I read if a fish has popeye only on one eye that it may not be popeye, so, I just left it for the time being. This morning I went down and his left eye was gone! Anyone ever have any experience with a fish only having one eye?

It was popeye. Every case of popeye I have ever dealed with has been in only one eye, and only the fish I got to early (I have used tetracycline w/ success) saved thier eyes. Otherwise the infected eye will pop out. Your fish will live w/o his eye, just make sure you feed him where he can see it. I'm sorry about your flame angel, they're so beautiful it's a shame he'll have to live w/o an eye.
