I have heard of a lot of cases of flame angels dying after trasport from lack of eating. has anybody here ever shipped a flame angel through saltwaterfish.com? and if so then did it die? did it do well and eat?
and was it completely red and no orange like a true Hawiian angel like the site says? any info on it would be helpful.

SWF. com uses fedex priorty express overnight so you get your fish by 1030 am the next day for most areas(there are exceptions I'm sure) so i dont see how any fish would die from lack of food. I have gotten great service everytime I've placed an order with them.

what flame angels are sadly known for is that if they are stressed it isn't that uncommon for them to not eat and get disease after they arrive i am just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them on SWfish.com

Flame angels are touchy fish. The rule of thumb that I have heard is that You will know in three days if the fish will make it. I have also read that Flames can die mysteriously in 30 days. I actually had one on hold at my LFS, but between the time I called to check on it and my arrival (appx 30 mins), the fish had died. I eventually got another from the same LFS. Have had the fish since May. At one point, it did get very skinny and tail developed pinholes. I thought it was going, but this did clear up and the fish has been fine since.

in any case if the fish does "go" within the 15 days is it a definate fact that swf.com will refund completely?

they are good for their word on guarantees, just make sure you dont flush him because you will likely have to send it back to them to get your credit
