i want to add an angel to my tank this week. i have a skunk clown, a blue damsel(fairly tame) and some aholehole(very tame schooling fish).
i have been reading and found that the flame angel is the most heardy. is that true or are there better options? or other fish that would do well in my tank?(55g) and no imnot thinking of adding tangs....

 A flame will be ok in your tank. You may know that they do require a well established healthy tank with lots of live rock to graze on and do get territoral.:happyfish

interesting that is the first time i have heard tha tthey are territorial. yeah my tank has been up for about 9 months now, and ive got about 65lbs of LR. i hope he will be fine. my friend has had three that have died within a week!?? i have no idea i have never been able to look at her water levels, or anything else but everyone else is good.
should i wait unitl they have been in the store over ten days? just to be sure they are healthy? i hear that angels, and butterflies are pretty hard to keep. so i have stuck with clowns chromis, damsels, cardinals and other easy hearty fish. now that i feel my tank is established enough i want to start adding a few angels and butterflies........slowly though im in no rush

What I mean by territoral is with other angels and a 55g IMO is not enough territory for another angle. Just make sure the one you buy is acting fine and eating in the store. I dont beleive the CB angle is more hardy but they are less aggressive than a flame.

my tank needs a guy who can hold his own. i couldnt part with one of my damsels. weve been to hell and back together. the outcome of that is that my skunk clown has raised to the occasion. my damsel was very territorial, and well i added a skunk clown and he "owns" the damsel it is hilarious. but they arnt aggressive towards anybody else in the tank, but they do keep each other in check. so i wont mind an angel with a bit of attitude.
